Where Dreams are Born
"I am a dreamer..." A-Mei started her concert with this melodious phrase from one of her songs.
Recently, I have been reading up on horoscopes. My horoscope that is. Not that I'm really keen to find out. And not that I'm really believing in whatever's written. It's just that some aspects really do coincide with my character and personality. And I'm rather amazed how people can actually be categorised into various horoscopes.
I'm a Piscean.
And like I read on a magazine, Pisceans like to dream a lot. They have lots of dreams. I admit this aspect is absolutely true, at least for me. I don't know why. There are so many things I want to achieve, I dream to achieve. There are people who would probably discriminate on the Arts scene, thinking it's not practical enough for a pragmatic society like Singapore. I agree. But not fully. You see, I have my own take on this. Being inclined to the Arts, I strongly believe in the power of its appeal. Arts is everything. A painting is an Art. A photo is an Art. Nature is an Art. The way of life is an Art. So how could you say Arts is impractical? Well, perhaps some would say, to carve out a career out of Arts seem rather impossible. My friend once told me this. To be an Artist, you could probably be penniless in a day, chewing on loaves of bread when times are bad. But if you have got what it takes, you can earn quite a bit too. Yes, ironically, as arty Arts can be, there's no grey area here. It's a make or break thing. Talent+opportunity=Success.
As a typical trait of Pisces, most Pisceans are bored by the mundane way of life. Things we see are in a different perspective. And hence, I always wanted to live a more meaningful life. Notice the word "more". It's just never enough. The human greed factor comes in. You just want to see how far you can go with your dreams. You only live life once. Hop on a chup-chup train? Or would you like a rollercoaster ride to satisfy the thrill factor? You choose. For me, life is an adventure.
You see, without dreams, people won't be inspired to work hard and achieve what they want. So, isn't having a dream an intrinsic asset for every success counted?
Besides, the world just can't live alone with Science. It takes two hands to clap. It is the Art of dreaming big, the Science of making it happen.
If I have to do anything to pursue my dreams, I will, at any cost.

Horoscopes do coincide, well they better do.. Dun believe it too much, just take it as a good reference point to know.
I agree with u on the Arts thingy. I have always thought that Arts is MORE important than Science. After all, the meaning of life is contained in the philosophy of Arts as well. Im sure u will carve an Arty niche for yrself some day. U have the right passion, now just to make the right decisions.
